M.A.P. (Ministry with All People)

Since 1946, Casowasco Camp and Retreat Center has served people through retreats, events and summer camp programs.  Through M.A.P. (Ministry with All People), we strive to continue this legacy by offering a variety programs in collaboration with trained staff, leaders, and clergy.  The goal of M.A.P. is to provide a place for individuals to step away from busyness and distractions of life and deepen their relationship with God.

Casowasco offers a variety of M.A.P. programs, including:
Ministries with Adults and Families
C.E.L. (Center for Excellence in Leadership), events designed to build new leaders, as well as develop and strengthen current leaders
M.Y.P. (Ministry with Yong People), events for youth that are theologically sound and culturally relevant

Women’s Chocolate Getaway 2012 • March 9 – March 11 | Ages: 18+ | Friday evening - Saturday Afternoon $105, Friday evening - Sunday afternoon, $187 Girls Only!

Our Women’s Chocolate Getaway Weekend is truly a time for refreshment, relaxation, and of course, chocolate. Join us March 9-11 and stay in our historic Galilee Lodge beside the crystal waters of Owasco Lake. Rev. Pam Harris will lead us during our times of study, devotion and fellowship as we explore the goodness of God.

Diane Murdock, third generation chocolate dipper, will bring her grandfather’s invention: the Hilliard’s Chocolate System. We will sample a variety of everyday and gourmet chocolates to determine which type fits your pallet. Use the Hilliard’s Chocolate System to create homemade chocolates and decorate a gourmet box to take home. Each chocolate lover will take home one pound of their homemade chocolates. On Saturday, we will even have a visit from a massage therapist.

Come with a group of your friends or alone for some much needed self-nurturing. If you are not able to spend the entire weekend, come for one overnight.

Guys with Grills • May 18 – May 20 | Ages: 18+ | $195 Boys Only!

Charcoal or gas? BBQ sauce or dry rub? And what is mesquite, anyway? The Guys with Grills Retreat at Casowasco Camp and Retreat Center gives you the perfect opportunity to invest in your relationship with God and spend time around the grill and campfire with other men. Cook most of your meals outdoors as you learn new techniques for grilling an assortment of meat, the difference between cuts of beef, and how to use a smoker. Participate in a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, boating, archery, and disc golf.

Father-Son Adventure • July 18 – July 20 | Ages: 4-13 | Adults $95 Children 4-13 $55 Boys Only!

Casowasco’s Father & Son Adventure is an opportunity for fathers to spend quality time with their sons in the great outdoors. While at camp you will be able to experience hiking, fishing, canoeing, the archery and sling shot ranges, and kayak races, to name a few of your options. Fathers will come away encouraged and equipped with practical new tools for your role as a dad, as well as good times with other fathers. Sons will have cherished memories of quality time with dad. For fathers with sons 4-13 years old.

Director’s Invitational • July 29 – August 3 | Ages: 14-18 | $332* Alumni Rate $250*

By invitation only: The best leadership exploration event around. Participants will learn to use their leadership skills for God’s glory. First time participants must be nominated by their churches or other local organizations. Alumni may register using the enclosed registration form and procedure. For more information or a nomination form, please contact Casowasco!

Early-bird, sibling, and refer-a-friend discounts do not apply. First time nominee fees are paid in full by the nominating agency. Alumni may request sponsorship from their local church if they wish. There is no expectation that churches will be able to sponsor them.

Mother-Daughter Getaway • August 1 – August 3 | Ages: 4-13 | Adults $95 Children 4-13 $55 Girls Only!

Casowasco’s Mother Daughter Getaway gives moms and daughters the opportunities to play, talk, eat, and laugh together. With all of the distractions left behind, moms and their little girls will be able to focus on each other. The relaxed schedule includes activities such as canoeing, a variety of multi age crafts, archery, a tea party, scavenger hunts, swimming, and the Blob. For mothers with daughters ages 4-13.

Family Camp • August 5 – August 8 | Ages: All ages welcome | $135 per Adult (13 and up), $75 Ages 4 - 12, 3 and under free, Family Max: $465

Summertime is the perfect opportunity for families to take a break from their busy lives and spend some time focusing on each other and their journey with the Lord. The beauty of Family Camp is that it is flexible. There is time to relax and to enjoy planned activities such as swimming and boating, tubing, archery, wagon rides, hiking, and scavenger hunts. Each day our staff will lead activities for the kids so parents can have some quiet time.

Quilt by Faith Retreat • October 11 – October 14 | Ages: 18+ | Package A: Thursday - Sunday (3 nights, 9 meals) = $235/Package B: Friday - Sunday (2 nights, 6 meals) = $165/Package C: Thursday - Saturday (2 nights, 6 meals) = $165/ Thursday - Sunday (Commuter, 9 meals) = $88 Girls Only!

Quilters understand with every stitch how scraps of fabric can come together to make something wonderfully new and striking with a little time, imagination, and love. The Quilt by Faith Retreat is a weekend dedicated to providing women a quiet space away from daily routines to work on favorite quilting projects, connect with other quilters of faith, and invest in their relationship with God. This weekend will include times of devotion, a trip to a local quilt shop, a visit from a massage therapist, a service project benefiting children, and lots of time to sew. Qualified leaders will teach a variety of mini classes on quilting techniques. All levels of quilting experience are welcome.

Camp Echo • December 30 – January 1 | Ages: 7-18 | $85

This winter, Casowasco campers will spend 3 jam-packed days cheering in the arrival of 2013 with the fire blazing and the snowplow ready. Play an intense game of Jack Frost, sled down the hill at Mt. Tabor, rock out to your favorite songs during worship, and count down to 2013 as the balloons fall from the sky. Sign up early for the most rockin’ New Year’s Eve celebration around!

Attention youth leaders- we know putting together a dynamite retreat can be quite a challenge. Casowasco’s SOLID Youth Retreat is here to help! We put together the weekend, including the schedule, the speakers, the music, and the awesome activities. All you need to do is hang out with your teens, encourage them to dig deep into their walk with God, and help them learn what it means to have a SOLID faith. Take part in dynamic worship, break away from the norm, and dive into an unforgettable experience.
