August 2009
Greetings from Casowasco! This has been a busy year for us in many ways; and we’d like to take a minute of your time to share some exciting news with you.
If you spent time with us last year, we were probably in the midst of preparing for the expansion and renovation of Emmaus Commons, the building that houses our dining room. Perhaps you were on of our guest groups that used the Foster Center as your alternative dining space. If so, we’d like to thank you for your understanding and patience during our time of construction.
We are excited to share with you that Phase 1 of the new building is complete, and over 1,000 summer campers gave it a good initiation. Summer camp wound down a couple of weeks ago, and we are busy in the midst of hosting our guest groups throughout the Fall season.
So… what can you expect from the new facility?
- An expanded dining room that holds 300 guests at one time outfitted with new tables and chairs
- Beautifully expanded bathrooms and gift shop
- A professionally furnished conference/meeting room
- A beautiful view of Owasco Lake through the wide expanse of windows on the lake side of the building
- A wrap around deck off the Founder’s Room
- A cozy courtyard patio with an outdoor fire pit for warmth on cool mornings and evenings
- A staff ready to assist you to make your stay memorable and enjoyable
To view photos of the building click here.
If you haven’t reserved a time to bring your group back, we hope you’ll do so soon. We’re confident that you’ll fall in love with this new facility just as we have; and we’re anxious to share this new space with you. Please give us a call at 315-364-8756 or e-mail us at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) if you’d like additional information or to schedule a time to come back and visit.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Sincerely,
Michael D. Huber
Executive Director
Dear Camper Families,
Access to the eCamp system (where you log into view photos and send e-mails) will be periodically unavailable from 11:00pm EST Wednesday 7/29 to 6:00am EST Thursday 7/30, because of performance on their hardware maintenance. Both eCamp Admin tools and eCamp Parent Site access will be affected during this time.
We will attempt to upload photos for the day prior to the website shutting down, however access will be limited. We ask that you be patient, and we will have everything up and running by morning. We are working with eCamp and their staff in making sure that this is as smooth as possible for all of our camper families.
Blessings,
Casowasco & Aldersgate Staff
